Los Altos, CA--We went to the Bad Girl Open on October 18th, 2009 in Los Altos, CA. Ruth P. of Crossfit San Leandro and Andrea S. of Crossfit East Bay participated and showed them how it's done! The Bad Girl is an unsanctioned competition so the lifting is done purely for fun. None of the lifting counted towards qualifying for any national competitions, but it was a nice venue for first timers like Ruth and Andrea. This competition did not require them to wear a competition lifting suit, but some participants chose to do so anyhow. The next meet we'll be attending will be the Golden West in Sacramento where Ruth, Andrea, and Chris S. will be competing on November 15th. Come watch them lift some big weights and rock their lifting suits or as Ruth and Andrea call it their "Onsies!" Way to tear it up, ladies!

Chris's Snatch Lift--70kg
Union City, CA--We met with Chris S. who is an awesome trainer and very committed athlete. Prior to Crossfit, Chris ran marathons and played lots of soccer. We're getting him on the road to becoming a weightlifter now. He's a natural. He's currently on a program to increase his lifting. Chris is going to get more comfortable with his catch and the bottom of the lift. Awesome work, Chris!
Ruth's 125lbs. Clean Lift
Union City, CA--Ruth P. came to us from Crossfit San Leandro and is one of the founders and trainers there. She's a physical therapist who has played basketball in the past. She came to us with a max clean of 95lbs. and we were able to help her out. Awesome job, Ruth!
Sacramento, CA--We attended the Tommy Kono Competition in Sacramento on August 9, 2009 where Tom competed for the first time. It's always tough to go through your first competition, but Tom did very well. He made 61kg in his snatch lift and did so in style. Despite the over 95 degree heat, Tom was able to focus and pull together a great meet. Great job, Tom!

Clay's Snatch Lift
Milpitas, CA--We worked with good cop, Clay W., this weekend. He was yet another person who came to the clinic after doing a heavy metcon. If he could have rested a bit before the clinic, he would have been scary. Clay's a great guy and an awesome trainer at Unlimited. He's on the road to becoming a good O-lifter as well. GO CLAY GO!
